Cami Beuk
Designer/Co-Founder
Born and raised in British Columbia, Cami brings an abundance of talent and creative energy to every project she works on. She started her career in the design industry after receiving her Marketing & Visual Arts degree in 2003. When asked what inspires her, she will tell you everything from working with and understanding colour “it changes the mood of a room” to using line and texture to make a space interesting and beautiful at the same time.
I am left handed and an Aquarius, so it is only natural that I’ve chosen a line of work that allows me to be creative and artistic. To me being a designer is not what I do, it is who I am.
Sandra Hurtley
Designer/Co-Founder
Growing up just south of the border Sandra has fond memories of spending her childhood summers at White Rock beach. Since she was very young she has been naturally drawn to art and design. After spending more than 20 years in travel & hospitality sales, she made the decision to attend interior design school in Portland, Oregon and has never looked back. Her careful attention to detail as well as her understanding of the elements and principles of design are apparent in all of her work.
I am inspired to create design that reflects the natural beauty that surrounds us. I believe our living environment affects everything else in our lives.
Marissa Kleven
Interior Design & Staging Consultant
Marissa started her career as a design assistant in the decorative arts field with an expertise in faux finishing and commercial and residential wall mural design. She has an Associate of Arts Degree from Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. Originally from a small town in Eastern Oregon, she moved to Canada in 2006. When asked to describe her style, Marissa will tell you she likes design that is refined and simplistic.
What I love most about design is being able to create an environment that is both beautifully balanced and harmonious. The reward is to see it all come together from concept to completion.
Tej Pabla
Interior Design & Staging Consultant
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Humber College in Toronto as well as an Advanced Diploma in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Vancouver, Tej brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and remarkable talent to the Positive Space team. Fluent in three languages, Tej grew up and currently lives in idyllic Vancouver, BC.
My style is contemporary and modern. I like clean lines and I like to use nature and organic forms. I also love designing my own furniture to fit a space.
Julianna McLean
Interior Design and Staging Consultant
Originally from a small town north of Toronto, Julianna graduated with honors from Humber College with a degree in Business of Fashion. After leaving Ontario she pursued her career in Victoria, BC for three years before moving to the Langley area. Her love of fashion transitions seamlessly into her talent for designing spaces. In addition to a very well trained eye, Julianna brings her natural sense of style to each project she works on.
I love how I can use my styling to completely transform a space. I enjoy seeing the before and after and how the differences can be more then you thought possible in that space.
Mieke Beuk
Staging Assistant
With a strong background in visual merchandising for the fashion industry, Mieke describes herself as colorful and realistic. A graduate of the BCIT Marketing Management Program, she grew up in Cloverdale, BC. Because of her positive outlook and high energy level, Mieke is wonderful to work with and has the natural ability to see the potential of any space.
For me the best part about design is the way a space can be transformed to reflect a persons’ personality.
